Why Is Sales Tax Being Added to Texas Jobs?

As of October 1, 2025, GreenPal is required to collect and remit sales tax on all transactions for lawn services completed in Texas. This is due to new state rules that classify us as a marketplace provider.

Will This Affect My Payout?

No, your payout doesn’t change.

You’ll still receive the full amount you bid.

Here’s how it works:

  • You submit a bid for $40

  • The customer pays $40 + tax (e.g., $43.30)

  • GreenPal collects the tax and sends it to the state

  • You still get your full $40 payout

Where Will I See the Tax?

You’ll see it:

  • On the bidding screen, as a preview next to your bid

  • On your dashboard, in job summaries

  • In your CSV exports and payout records

Tax is shown as a separate line item that is not part of your payout.

Do I Need to File or Pay Taxes Myself?

No, GreenPal handles everything related to collecting and remitting the tax.

You do not need to:

  • Register for a tax permit in Texas

  • Collect or track taxes

File anything with the state
